How BrainMass Builds an Online Community

Our commitment to high quality educational aid attracts people from all over the world. Being that our site provides students with a direct connection to excellent Academic Experts, a community that involves staff, Experts and students has developed naturally over the course of our existence.

The Academic Experts at BrainMass are able to learn from each other as well as from our staff. Students are easily able to communicate with both the company and the Experts that help them. We try to encourage an open forum for both discussion and feedback and the result is a vibrant website in which dynamic interaction amongst its members is commonplace.

As Diane Janes (Instructional Developer, Distance Education and Technology, University of British Columbia) stated so well: "Indeed, we may be moving towards the ultimate seamlessness, where we study and learn and interact in physical and virtual spaces without thinking about how we do it ... taking the best from both worlds". An effective learning community is a pre-requisite to successful learning, especially if collaborative work is involved, and that is the path that BrainMass has always been travelling on.

How does Brainmass build an effective online learning community? We make the following cornerstones of our service:
