    Appellate Advocacy

Appellate advocacy is the legal representation by an attorney for a process of appeals at any of the intermediate courts up to and including the Supreme Court. Appellate advocacy is recognized as an independent specialty field that is different from trial advocacy. As opposed to trial advocacy, appellate advocacy typically is more focused on the facts and evidence because there is no 'human' jury to convince. Appeal courts are typically made up of more judges that are more concerned for uniformity in the application of the law.
