Introduction:
Flexibility is defined as " the range of motion about a body joint" (Baechle, Earle, 2008). The sit and reach box is used to evaluate the combined flexibility of the lower back and hamstrings. Tightness in the lower back is "implicated in lumbar lordosis, forward pelvic tilt and lower back pain" (Topendsports, 2012). The subject for the test is a 28-year-old athletic female.
Methodology
A warm-up and static stretching should proceed the testing. The testing floor should be dry, and level. Equipment needed is: measuring tape, adhesive tape, a standard sit and reach box, and a tester.
