The country that I will analyze is Taiwan, which offers its citizens universal coverage through the National Health Insurance government program. Citizens in the country have access to equal medical services wherein the plan is paid for through premiums averaging $41 per month to obtain equal access to prescription drugs, dental services, and home nurse visits among other healthcare services. A co-payment is required by insured patients and reimbursement for medical services rendered is handled through the Bureau of National Health Insurance.

In the United States, the healthcare system is not ran by a central governmental agency such as the National Health Insurance government program in Taiwan. In contrast, third-party insurers in a private market offer access to healthcare for Americans who can afford the insurance for healthcare.
