Your organization has just completed the Initiation Process for implementing an Email System Upgrade. Help desk and support infrastructure will be set-up to accommodate the new system;

As we all know, Quality and TQM (Total Quality Management) are the buzzwords in today's business world and project management is no exception. Quality and TQM has a major impact on project management process and impacts each aspect of this activity.

Quality has been defined in different ways. ISO 9000 body defines quality as Degree to which a set of inherent characteristic fulfills requirements. Peter Drucker defines it as: Quality in a product or service is not what the supplier puts in. It is what the customer gets out and is willing to pay for. For a layman, quality means a measure of excellence.

TQM is a set of management practices throughout the organization, geared to ensure the organization consistently meets or exceeds customer requirements. Total Quality is a description of the culture, attitude and organization of a company that aims to provide, and continue to provide, its customers with products and services that satisfy their needs. The culture requires quality in all aspects of the company's operations, with things being done right first time, and defects and waste eradicated from operations.
