Introduction

The product life cycle is an extremely important part of a business. At different stages, different marketing strategies are required. At the stage of maturity, the strong growth in sales decreases and there is competition with similar products in the industry. McDonalds is a global company and it is not very easy to face international competition (Bateman & Scott, 2004). McDonalds is facing increased competition with several firms like Starbucks, Pizza Hut, Burger King and Wendy's. Several other firms in the fast food industry like coffee-shop chains - Costa coffee, Barista and Café Coffee Day have been offering tough competition to McDonalds and they specialize in offering world class coffee.
