We live in a hectic, multi-media world. That makes the role of public relations chairman more vital to a club's success than ever before. External public relations strategies are often equated with publicity, but it's more than that. The basic purpose of external public relations is twofold: to increase recognition of the company name and to increase public understanding of the company's community-service role, for example. Thus, the newsletter would include information of the same through press releases in newsletter, company up-to-date information, etc.. http://www.kiwanis.org/pr/
-Internal public relations strategies include all those aspects of company life that create a positive attitude about Kiwanis among members. The public relations chairman should work closely with the president and the newsletter editor to ensure that new members are recognized and made to feel at home, e.g. the employee who wins an honor is complimented on his or her achievement, and the employee who is ill is remembered with a card or visit. Thus, the purpose of corporate newsletter in public relations is to create greater awareness, understanding, and appreciation of company, not just among the public but among the company staff too.
