Wal-Mart Public Corporation of America runs a chain of stores globally. The three segments of Wal-Mart are Wal-Mart Stores, International segment and Sam's Club. Sam Walton founded the company in 1962, which is headquartered in the USA. Wal-Mart is the biggest retailer in the world (About Us: Wal-Mart, 2009). A large number of employees are employed in the company. The employees of the company are selected through various effective HR functions.

Wal-Mart employs both full-time and part-time employees. In order to select the employees the company uses a well defined selection process. The employees are trained very well through training and development programs. They have good knowledge level and are efficient in their related areas. Their productivity level is also up to the level. The employees have favorable attitude towards the company, which is very essential for the productivity of the company. This is because the company provides several benefits to its employees other than the monetary rewards (Speizer & Irwin, 2006).
