As the old saying goes, "There's more than one way to solve a problem." Consequently, there are also several styles of leadership and influence methods to utilize that can assist leaders with improving their own performance in addition to their employees'. Researching the different styles and methods will help by not encouraging repetitious mistakes made in the past and/or encouraging the practice(s) of any proven method(s) that consistently produces the desired outcome(s).
The purpose of this summary is to provide an explanation of three leader's (Oprah Winfrey, Jermaine Dupri, and Shawn Carter) styles of leadership as well as the methods of influence they used to make them more effective.
Some styles of leadership researchers have explored include pacesetting, authoritative, affiliate, coaching, coercive, and democratic (Editorial Board, 2015). A few methods of influence consist of, but are not limited to, rational/logical persuasion, inspirational appeal, consultation, and collaboration (Rykrsmith, 2011).
Based on research conducted all three of these leaders could easily be described as possessing a combination of all the styles and influence tactics mentioned above. This can be considered as true because all are CEO's that carry more than one title such as actor/actress, producer, philanthropist, and entertainer. As a result they must be able to appeal to a diverse audience and lead/influence a variety of people (Black Entrepreneur Profile, 2016).
Different situations and/or levels of success require leaders to be able to adapt to varying situations, environments, and people in order to maximize efforts. Specifically, the individuals able to use at least four of the different styles of leadership have been determined to be the most effective (Editorial Board et al). In conclusion, leaders must have the genuine understanding that evolution is the key to long term success because every style and/or influence method learned/used will not work in all situations or with all people.

Your executive summary looks great. The variety of leaderships styles is what can make or break a work environment and the overall success of the company or department. Like you stated "there is more than one way to solve a problem" each leadership style impacts this process. If the leader is supportive then they will encourage everyone to work together creating an element of team work, collaboration and innovation. If the leader is dominating then the problem could become worse and lead to a break down of employee moral and team work creating and environment of chaos and hostility. In doing our unit 5 project we are to see and compare the effective and ineffective methods used by successful leaders we get the chance to see what works and what does not helping to make us effective leaders in our positions.
