The Topic:
Preliminary Outline
This is an individual project that requires me to write an article on CEOs and Presidents for a management journal, by which, the leadership styles of three leaders of my preference will be analysed and compared. I will adhere to the following approach and technique in completing this project.
1. Selection of Leaders: The three leaders will be selected from the most influential leaders (Past and Present) particularly Fortune 500 companies. The leaders I have chosen are as follows: Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg and Martha Steward.
2. Developing a Questionnaire
I. General Questionnaire: The collection of information will be online, books or magazines. A general questionnaire will be developed to facilitate the search of the required information on these leaders. The general questionnaire will entail questions on the following:

a. How factors such as degree of autonomy, hierarchy, personality traits and skill inventory and power relationships of the leaders influence the leadership process in relation to the influence exerted by the leader on their organizations.
b. How personality differences impact leadership
c. The different types of leadership adopted by these leaders
d. The effects variable of the following variables on leadership: Climate, workforce diversity, culture and structure of the organization.
e. The impact of leadership on performance, employee motivation, efficiency, job satisfaction and CSR.

II. Specific Questionnaire: The specific Questionnaire will be utilised to get information on the leadership styles of each of the three leaders. The questionnaire will be useful in answering the following questions concerning the three leaders:

Type of Leadership Style
Specific Personality Traits
Types of Influence Processes Used
Direct and Indirect Impacts on the Organisational Variables
Direction of Decisions
Resources Allocation
Extrinsic and Intrinsic Reward Used
Promotion Strategies

3. Data Collection: Data collection will be conducted through the use of secondary sources that will help in answering these questions. I will make good use of the various publications and cases that are readily available on the internet. Furthermore, I will make good use of peer review journals, business magazines and newspapers. These combinations of secondary sources will be analysed, compared and compiled in creating a volume of consistent information relating to the leadership of the three leaders.

4. Data Analysis and Findings: The analysis of the data will entail inspection of published materials in relation to leadership. Cleaning of the data will be done to establish the consistency in the publications. Furthermore, data transformation will be done in consistency with the scope of the project. The successful completion of analysis will form the basis for establishing the findings and recommendations.

5. Conclusion: In conclusion of the project, I will give a general explanation of the project in terms of data analysis, the findings and the recommendations. I will also highlight how these three leaders compare by indicating their similarities and differences.
