I chose "Capital Scarcity and Banking Industry Structure in Montana" from the Academic Search online university journal to gather more information to help me better understand our company's decision in choosing lower lending rates. By look at this article, I was able to compare what other banks chose as their step when it came to the same decision and what it affects it had on the entire company.
This article examines whether the distinctive nature of Montana's local banking markets exacerbate capital scarcity, either by reducing bank lending or raising bank loan rates. The article's results suggest that regulatory reform which leads to greater local competition and to the formation of larger banking firms can enhance Montana's supply of capital. Contrary to expectations, loan prices were found to not be significantly higher in markets experiencing rapid growth in personal income. Wages are not significantly related to loan prices. 1
