SARBANES-OXLEY ACT 2002

Secondary research makes use of data that have been previously collected for some project other than the one at hand. Data may not exactly meet the needs of the researcher because they were collected for another purpose (Zikmund, 2003). Primary data are commonly gathered from books, journals, and other publications in which the articles were previously written by authors. Documents obtained by agencies such as national census are examples of primary data. What is expected is that they were obtained in relation to the specific objectives of the authors at the time that the articles were written and the census was conducted.
