    You and 2 other classmates have decided to start your own business; much like Bill Gates and Steve Jobs did with their friends. After graduation you decide to buy a company that is for sale. It is a bargain but upon further inspection you realize that their HRIS is almost completely useless and outdated. If your new executive staff is going to be able to manage the 200 employees in this struggling multi-national online niche retailer, how are you going to fix the almost useless HRIS you just bought? You and your partners flip a coin (since none of you have any experience in business computer systems) and how are chosen to do a study and make recommendations to them about how to handle the situation.

    Based solely on what you know at this moment, without any additional reading or study, prepare a rough outline and/or timeline of what you would do to project manage a new HRIS for your newly purchased company.Your paper should be 3 pages and to the point. You are expected to deal with these issues in an integrated fashion, rather than treating them as a series of individual questions to be answered one by one and left at that.

    Since, the system is useless, we assume that neither the hardware nor the software is fit to support HRIS. The company has 200 employees and is an online retail company. The new HRIS system will have functions not only to support the current operations but also to support the expected expansion of the firm.

    At the minimum the HRIS must be able to support the attendance system, the payroll administration, leave management, self-service module for employees, and self-service module for the executives, and recruitment. Further, the system should support performance management, benefits management, and career development. The system should also support employee training.

    The HRIS will be such that standard reports can be accessed using an easy access menu. The executives can access all the standard reports. There will be two types of reports generated. The first will be Standard reports that can be accessed directly. On the other hand the HRIS will enable the executives to change the parameter settings. The HRIS will enable the HR staff or the executives to view the reports in different levels of depth and determine if the report is retrieved for all the underlying objects.
