The Employee Polygraph Protection Act limits the use of polygraph testing to only specific types of private companies or for certain reasons by private companies. This includes pre employment and during employment. An employee cannot be fired or disciplined or discriminated against for refusing to take a polygraph test.
Only security service firms, and pharmaceutical manufacturers, distributors, and people who dispense drugs have jobs that can require polygraph tests.
