    Ideally, we would expect to see both sides involved in a negotiation act 100% ethically at all times, regardless of how involved or complex the issues are, that are being negotiated. Unfortunately, this usually is not what actually happens at the negotiation table. Each side employs various tactics to try and gain the upper advantage. Essentially, each party wants the other party to meet all of their requests, demands, and to rectify all issues. This is the basic premise of negotiation. Because this is not realistic, the sides negotiate to determine the best possible situation for all sides, where everyone benefits.
