The case below illustrates the importance of the control function. Many young entrepreneurs with dreams of starting their own firm believe that control is a function that occurs last, after all other actions.

Read the case carefully and answer the following questions:

1. Give three examples of ways that Amanda could have used feed-forward, con-current, and feedback control in her business. That is three examples of each for a total of nine examples please! Be very specific as to what type of control you are proposing, how your proposal relates to this specific case, and how you believe your proposal may have helped prevent the problems Amanda is currently facing.
Feed-forward control examples are that Amanda should have interviewed and selected the three accountants herself. Second she should have monitored the number of clients each accountant got from her geographical areas, and third she should have monitored the number of new clients each accountant brought in.
Concurrent control examples are that Amanda should have placed checkpoints that examined the quality of work that accountants put in, Second Amanda should have placed checks that would have monitored the filing process in time so that all the returns were filed in time. Third, Amanda should have examined the returns filed by her company because that would have detected the errors in filing.
Feedback control system: Amanda should have in place a system for investigating every request for extensions and the reasons for the need of extension. Second, Amanda should have in place a system for counting the number of returns each accountant filed. Third, Amanda should have a system in place a method for investigating every negative feedback she received from her clients. Fourth, Amanda should have a system in place a method for investigating every request for additional information or additional payment from the IRS and the state treasury and identify the person responsible for the error.
