Social networking websites, by nature, are created in order to attract traffic by a "target audience." As you would recall with the creation of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg had initially started it within the student body of the university he was attending and then it attracted students attending other universities. His "target audience" was university students and then it expanded from there.
As the site attracted more and more traffic outside of its initial target audience, the site had to adjust and cater to its larger culture. In catering to the needs of this larger global culture, Facebook had to naturally make adjustments to its site. Facebook is open to anyone age 13 and older with a valid email address. Already those two factors are focused on a target audience. ...
This solution will assist the student in discussing "targeted audiences" in different social networking websites. It will also address the issue of age group and ethnicity in those targeted audiences.
