I would like to expand on how might the characteristics of the individuals and the settings influence the personality assessment process, the type of data I might gather, and any assessment changes based on setting. Any personal thoughts or views welcome.

The characteristics of the individuals and the settings influence the personality assessment process, largely due to the fact that the setting in which the assessment takes place can have an effect on an individual's psychological functioning at that particular time. For example, a personality assessment that takes place within a clinical setting would be much more relaxed atmosphere for the individual that is the subject of this assessment. Due to this factor, the true nature of these individuals' personalities would probably shine forth, without any undue hindrance from external stresses.
