Effective communication is a critical component of achieving business success, be it communication of the organization's goals, vision, strategy and business policies, or the communication of facts, information and data (Collins and Porras, 1994; Larkin and Larkin, 1994; Purser and Cabana, 1997; Yingling, 1997). Regular, two way communication particularly face-to-face with employees is identified as an important factor in establishing trust and a feeling of being valued (Mumford and Hendricks, 1996; Fourtou, 1997) which is highly essential to achieve total quality. An employee that feels valued is a motivated employee and even more importantly, a loyal employee.
