There are many specific similarities between the Code of Hammurabi and laws used today. For the first part, Hammurabi's laws are sorted into groups the way that our current codes are arranged. They were in groups like property, trade, business, family, labor, and real estate. This organizational structure is what we use now. Additionally, Hammurabi's code sought just punishments related to the crime. One significant difference is that Hammurabi's code was far more extreme in the scope of punishments.
