During change, health care organizations (HCOs) need to manage change and complex organizational conflicts and inter-group disputes that are a natural reaction to change: "Conflict in an ever-present process in human relations" (Loomis and Loomis, 1965) (http://ohioline.osu.edu/cd-fact/l701.html).
The cons associated with conflict have serious negative implications for an HCO, such as impasse within health systems, hospitals, clinics, and group practice environments. It also creates poor customer relations through preventing the delivering of good quality care. This is especially serious as it challenges the very mission of ALL HCOs, mainly to provide good quality care to patients and communities.
