Goals of the program
The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration ( SAMHSA) is an agency within the US Department of Health and Human Services that leads to public health efforts to advance the behavioral health of the nation. The goal of the SAMHSA is "to make the substance use and mental disorder information, services, and research more accessible to the mental and abuse population." (1) Its strategic goals are " to help people with mental and substance use disorder, build strong and supportive communities, prevent costly health problems, and promote better health for the populations. " (1)

Methods of Operations.

SAMHSA has several strategy and initiative to focus on improving lives. SAMHSA will promise to help people with mental and substance abuse disorders, support families of people with mental and suhstance use disorders, build strong and supportive communities, prevent costly behavioral health problems, and promote better health for all people.
The initiatives would allow SAMHSA to support the Affordable Care Act and Mental Health Parity.
