a) What are neurons and how they transmit information?
Neurons are cells that can be excited electrically. These cells transmit information by chemical signally, this takes place in particular connections with other cells. These connections are called synapses. Neurons transmit information through distances and in selected ways because they are connected with each other to make networks.
b) How the neurons communicate
Neurons communicate because they are excitable electrically. They maintain voltage gradients across their membranes through ion pumps which combine with ion channels. Changes in cross-membrane electrical voltage lead to communication. Action potentials are generated which move across the cell's axon and begins synaptic connections with other cells.

The neurotransmitter influences human behavior in different ways. Through the cholinergic system the neurotransmitter causes arousal, learning and short-term memory.
