This particular article is of interest because it did not just look into the practice of one business or one industry, it looked into the ethical practices regulated and enforced in a particular country, Israel, for the sole purpose of governing and ensuring ethical business practices. When we hear the word Israel, we often associate it to Middle-East conflict and with the Palestinian cause. Israel, for all its political and military issues, is a prosperous nation, one built on the principles based upon Jewish ideals of what is fair and right. The author, Schwartz, suggests that Israel has done much as a young nation to create an economic atmosphere that practices ethical standards. He equated its 'great strides' to being a possible 'light unto nations' - a Biblical connotation that can mean as being a 'model'. The author looked into 3 key components to study the state of business ethics in the country which he explained as follows (Schwartz, 2012) -
