Why is it difficult to define PR?

Public relations (PR) is varied and it is still in the process of continuous evolution. Its main purpose which is to build and enhance relationships is also a dynamic thing which adds up to its complexity. The role of a PR practitioner requires knowledge, understanding and experience in various fields such as media, management, communication, and psychology. Dealing with human relationships and the different outcomes that goes with it ensure that the PR practitioner must perform ongoing research, planning, relating with community, government, etc. and communications training. It is not only the job that is varied in PR but also the industry itself as evidenced with the fragmented professional practice of PR.
