This week I am focusing my efforts on trying to describe some contemporary leadership training practices. I am seeking some additional perspective on what organizations need to do to develop better and more effective leaders too? If I can get a few examples of organizations that are selecting, training, and assessing their leaders to better connect actions to leadership principles, that would be great.
Contemporary leadership training practices include emotions and social intelligence, in addition to skills and knowledge required by leaders to learn effective practices. Such leaders understand people's emotions and help in establishing common goals for them which they are able to relate in a better way. Contemporary leadership focuses on personality traits of leaders. Contemporary leaders are leaders with confidence, drive and strong interpersonal skills. Training practices on contemporary leadership provides opportunities for leaders to collaborate and work together, rather than go by the hierarchy. Leaders are able to motivate employees so that they feel respected for their contributions and perform better in the long term.
