Agency 1- National Labor Relations Board (NLRB)

The event reviewed was the NLRB's handling of a long standing dispute between the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees and the Raymond F. Kravis Center for Performing Arts in Palm Beach FL. The labor dispute was in regards to the Union bringing charges against the production company for unfair labor practices and failure to comply with their legally binding union contracts in their hiring practices from 2007 -2012 (NLRB.GOV).
2. The cause of the issue, noting if the cause was due to neglected public bureaucracies from elected and appointed officials.
The primary issue was an intentional neglect by the management of the production company to comply with Federal law and meet their terms in the collective bargaining agreement they were bound to uphold. The production company hired over 700 people from outside of the union.
