1. How does technology change traditional marketing?

Technology changes traditional marketing in many ways. A great deal more people are able to be reached- and connect with one another- with technology. Technology also changes the dynamics of communication from a one-sided message to a conversation between the marketers and customers, and allows customers to interact with one another regarding the brand. Technology also changes the supply of information, broadening the source from solely company generated. It makes it so that information can be presented more dynamically, through videos, for instance. It also makes marketing much more fluid, with the ability to create messages and change them quickly based upon results. Costs may be reduced by not printing and distributing hard copies of materials. Technology can also make a smaller marketer appear much larger, just based on their screen presence.

2. As a consumer, how is your life changing as the Semantic Web becomes reality?

The Semantic Web helps make it easier to get "people and computers to work in cooperation. " As a consumer this means that a computer will help suggest products that may appeal more to your likes based upon your past history. This helps a consumer find products more easily. In my case, it means that Amazon.com can send me targeted e-mails based upon recent purchases- and even my searches- and Netflix can recommend movies that I am more apt to enjoy. It also means that I don't need to bother with adding my shipping information or banking details- this will already be communicated- so I can quickly and easily move on with other tasks.
