Each of the competencies and condition act to create task and interpersonal connection. First, we take p creative tension. This is situation where there are differing perspectives. Each perspective is allowed and so the members feel free to contribute. The very fact that conflicting perspectives are being presented to the team and the team is considering them creates a strong interpersonal connection. When these perspectives are integrated or considered before the decision is made there is a task connection among the members. Even thought the perspectives of the members have not been taken up entirely or even partially, the fact that they have been considered makes the member feel connected with the task. To ensure that task and interpersonal connection takes place it is important that criticism is avoided.

Another condition that creates supportive climates in team is one that involves challenges to the group. There may be several types of challenges. For instance, the team is supposed to create a computer application within a week. Apart from putting in extra hours each member has to interact more and closely with some members.
