The company's website social media policy that I want to review is that of Amazon.com. Amazon is a US e-commerce and cloud computing website whose office is located in Seattle. Amazon is the largest internet based retailer in the world by total sales and market capitalization. Currently, Amazon has more market capitalization than Wal-Mart. This makes it the most valuable retailer in the world.

Amazon has a well developed and successful social media policy. It has important components of what a corporate media policy should have(1). Amazon has a social media policy according to which it remains engaged, creates appropriate content, remains up-to date with social media changes, and trends. Amazon has more than 25 million likes on Facebook. The company has a social media policy of engaging with customers. It responds to questions and complaints online with an answer or solution to their problem. Amazon engages into a conversation. At the same time Amazon provides links to products and gives coupons to increase its own sales revenues.
One of the key social media policies being used by Amazon is to encourage buying through social media. On Twitter, Amazon provides Amazon code with product features so that the potential customer can add them to their Amazon cart immediately(2). The AmazonCart.Genius does the work for the potential customer.

Amazon is currently beta testing Amazon Influencer Program. This program is similar to Amazon Affiliate program. The influencer program will offer influencers commission on product sold.
