    Q. After removing the painful kidney stone, which of the following might be part of a treatment plan and why?
    *Low calcium diet

Kidney stones are solid aggregation formed in the kidneys from dietary minerals in the urine. Such patients are put on low calcium diet and may benefit from removal of overactive (and/or neoplastic) parathyroid glands, which are located on the four corners of your thyroid gland. Overproduction of PTH can result in excessive increase in blood calcium levels. BUT remember these are not part of thyroid gland. These are only located near thyroid. C-cells are part of thryroid gland that produce calcitonin. And this hormone is responsible for reducing the calcium level in blood and not increasing.
