Consider two hearing-impaired persons. One is deaf in the left ear but has normal hearing in the right ear. The second cannot hear frequencies above 1 kHz in either ear, but has normal hearing in both ears for lower frequencies. What problems would these two persons have with such everyday auditory tasks as localizing sound in space? Explain your answer.
