Marketing research is an important part of business, without it, companies will be unable to keep in touch with trends and changing tastes, demands and preferences of their consumers. Essentially it is the continued gathering of important consumer and market data recording and subsequently analysing said data related to the creation of strategies and correction/calibration of present ones for the purpose of increasing interest and consumption of the company's products and services. To do this, marketing research takes into account the 4Ps of marketing mix; by identifying and continually assessing them, how they impact customer behaviour can be understood. One can do either a qualitative (focusing on details and experience of consumers) or quantitative (focusing on measurable statistical data) research as possible methodologies. Said methodologies are also sometimes mixed to give depth to statistics and a 'social' face to numbers. In the case of Kudler Fine foods, I am of the opinion that marketing strategies are essential in promoting awareness and interest as well as keeping market share especially since theirs is a specialized niche.
