The EEOC' Diversity Training Standard

Equal Employment Opportunity Commission or EEOC is one of the manifestations of affirmative action taken by the government and instituted as standard employment practice across America as a policy against discrimination for the purpose of implementing full spectrum diversity. The EEOC'S mandate stems from the Civil Rights Act of 1964,the Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967, the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990 and the ADA Amendments Act of 2008. The EEOC encourages diversity in the workplace by putting together policies as well as projects known as 'Diversity Training'. According to Vaughn (2007), diversity training is training for the purpose of increasing participants' cultural awareness, knowledge, and skills, which is based on the assumption that the training will benefit an organization by protecting against civil rights violations, increasing the inclusion of different identity groups, and promoting better teamwork.
