The current system, known as DeutscheBahn or DB encompasses all of Germany connecting international, regional, intercity and smaller town-to-village train systems serving over 1.9 billion passengers annually. It is hailed as the most on time (never late beyond a minute), highly sophisticated and technologically advanced rail system in Europe and is the standard from which other railway systems around Europe is judged against.
