In my opinion, stereotypes in the media are certainly detracting from the cause of diversity and/or assimilation. The media is one of the most powerful tools that are out there. The media can influence individuals' mind from the moment they are little children. This influence in turn affects their behavior and can help them confirm or dispel certain stereotypes. Therefore, anything that the media portrays on the outside has a direct influence on the workplace. For example, anytime a person watches a commercial on TV about anything that is work or office related, that person may develop a concept of diversity based on that ...
