(a) Give an overview of Stem cell research and an issue that is happening outside the Unites States

One issue regarding stem cell research outside of the United States is the use of new technologies in relation to bioethics associated with this form of research. For instance, Sleeboom-Faulkner (2010) notes that rooted in the everyday practice of Chinese human embryonic structure, research is identified according to specific risks such as: (1) moral risk [violation of cultural norms]; (2) material risk [distribution of material sources and wealth]; (3) political risk [bioethics and public debate; and (4) reputational risk [personal and national honor]. Sleeboom-Faulkner asserts that global awareness exists among stem cell scientists and researchers, and many are aware of the risks. However, most display a lack of interests regarding the opportunities and constraints of stem cell research. As a result, the 'risk signature' of human embryonic stem cell shows that China is in opposition to those of countries abroad, and those in different environments. Stem cell research has been conducted in several countries including Europe, the United States, China and Scotland (Montero, Forrester, Grannan, Howard & Salas, 2009).
