The situation:

For the purpose of this assignment, I am chosing a scenario related to increasing absenteeism and high employee turnover in the organization. In other words, the employees in my organization are not motivated to contribute their 100 percent towards the organization and feeling very low in terms of motivation and morale. Their loyalty towards the organization is decreasing and many of them are looking for a change. Overall, absenteeism is on the rise, employees are turning late for work and leaving early and taking long breaks and the productivity has declined significantly.

Recommended solution:

In order to resolve this issue, one of the major areas that needs to be worked upon is the motivation and morale factor among the employees. Organizational leaders and HR managers will need to understand the cause of such low morale and motivation as well as lack of loyalty among the employees and need to implement strategies to boost the motivation and morale levels of the employees.

One of the theories of motivation that could work well in terms of identifying the real needs and wants of employees or factors that would motivate such employees would be Maslow's Need Hierarchy Theory.

"As per Maslow, human needs are in the form of a hierarchy, ascending from the lowest to the highest, and he concluded that when one set of needs is satisfied, this kind of need ceases to be a motivator.

As per his theory this needs are :

(i) Physiological needs :
