However, in today's global environment managers are faced with increasing challenges with bringing persons from varying backgrounds into a cohesive team environment to meet organizational goals. For instance, the fast paced work ethic within the United States is not understood nor looked highly upon in countries within the European Union where work is looked at as something that is secondary to the family. This can be seen in the basic cultural differences in Spain where the workplace shuts down for a couple of hours everyday in order for employees to take their daily nap. That type of activity would be unheard of in the United States where taking a nap during the day would be seen as a lack of productivity. It is these differing types of cultural aspects that will effect the ability of managers to bring together multicultural organizations to achieve maximum effectiveness.
