Research on teen substance abuse, especially the abuse of alcohol has shown that the impact is far more tragic in the case of teens who abuse alcohol or have become addicted to alcohol and at the same time, have access to a vehicle and drive. Teen DUI's is the leading causes of death among adolescents. According to the California Courts (2015), "Car crashes are the No. 1 killer of teens in the U.S. Teens is four times more likely to die or be injured in a car crash than older people."
