    I do believe that these type of professionals can apply operant conditioning, specifically the principles of reinforcement and punishment.

    Let me define positive reinforcement. This occurs when a behavior (response) is followed by a favorable stimulus (commonly seen as pleasant) that increases the frequency of that behavior.
