Retaining Costumers: Evolving with Development

Many of us grew up in a family where life is documented by photos. I personally recall my mother, father, aunts, uncles & grandparents owning a variety of cameras and the variety of film that they use to 'capture' the moment. KODAK was the most prevalent brand of them all, that and Polaroid, that little machine that can right away print out pictures when taken. Canon, the biggest player in Photography used to produce excellent amateur film cameras too and developed one of the first electronically driven Single Lens Reflex Cameras, the kind of imaging technology that defined 'professional Photography' since the late 80's and the 90's. Through Canon's EOS System, control of an image by photographers became phenomenal as varied lenses developed to cover the demands of commercial, fashion & journalistic/war photography. Sometime in the late 90's & the early 2000, the digital revolution reached photography. Mobile phones as small as a card deck had small pinhole-type cameras imbedded in them. This allowed for the 'digital capture' without the need for film. Canon then took the Digital Idea and moved it forward, creating the first successful Digital Single Lens Reflex System. Fast forward to this period and Canon hold 70% of the professional & amateur photography market with their cameras being used from Hollywood to Bollywood and on the hands of some of the most renowned photographers in the world for news, events, nature, commercial & fashion photography. The advent of Photoshop has given the digital photographer a fully working digital darkroom and when once a Camera or Photography store sold all sorts of chemicals for developing film, and film of course, camera shops now offer all forms of digital storage, imaging software and a selection of attachments & gadgets meant to enhance photography, digitally.
