- In my opinion, the department made the right choice in terminating the police officer involved. This case, as similar cases would also be, largely based on each student's opinion. Some may contend that the termination was unjust and that a suspension or other disciplinary action would have been called for, but not the termination.
The department basically has reinforced their ethical tone and tolerance level by terminating the police officer. The department is directly showing the public and their community the type of actions that will and will not be tolerated by its law enforcement officers.
