One way by which I would promote clinical reasoning in the classroom would be to provide the students with assignments that describe scenarios within the clinical setting in which they would have to analyze the situation and make clinical decisions based upon their knowledge and the specifics of the given situation. I would seek to promote clinical reasoning to students in the clinical setting by giving them the discretion to solve technical issues under my supervision, and provide them with guidance as needed. Another very innovative method that I would utilize in promoting clinical reasoning would be role-playing in the classroom in which students would have to solve real-world-based clinical issues, and be graded on the proficiency in resolving these issues. An innovative method that has been successful has been the role-playing methodology. Clinical analysis assignments have also been very successful in increasing clinical reasoning for students.
