Costly large-scale initiatives have been put in motion in U.S. health care programs driven by escalating prohibitive costs in labor and inventory; increasing malpractice incidents and their related ramifications in legal costs and professional reputations; and the rising need for and dependency on up-to-date clinical information systems for scheduling, patient care management, information sharing, billing, and total financial management. Should the United States outsource some of its health care to other countries where the death toll from medical errors is less and the health care costs are better managed? Explain the rationale underlying your position.
