The problem was that although clinical mentoring is important in nursing training and practice, it is unclear what nursing students in Turkey think of and expect from clinical mentors. The study attempts to address this problem.

Nursing is a practice-based discipline (e.g., increases knowledge and application to work place setting), and since clinical mentoring is imperative to good practice, it is important to understand what the students see as being effective in this process.
