    One change that I would make to the current legislation related to drug abuse, is to greatly decrease the criminal sanctions for drug offenders that are caught with an amount of drugs that clearly constitutes personal use. This is so that these individuals can be remanded to treatment facilities in order to get the treatment that they need, instead of sending them to correctional facilities where they get little or no treatment, and in many cases still have access to the drugs that they are addicted to. In essence, I would make it mandatory that drug addicted offenders be remanded to treatment ...
