Q1. What role can conflict play in the development of a team? In your opinion, does conflict make the team more or less cohesive? Explain.

As you approach conflict, notice that conflict plays a vital role in team development. For example, conflict is not always deemed as negative. On the other hand, it can facilitate or promote the acceptance of mutual decisions among team members. It also is helpful for team development because it establishes an understanding of other people's values or beliefs, personality traits, or ideologies. Once these differences are articulated, conflict often leads to better focus on team objectives and goals.

It can also lead to a more cohesive group because of the promotion of diversity; it allows others to express their differing views, allowing team members to view an issue from multiple perspectives.

Since individual thinking or personality styles lead to clashes, conflict may actually help to diffuse more serious concerns; it may also be been beneficial because it can demonstrate the team's collaborative ability to resolve problems.
