    A lesson plan basically outlines what subject matter an instructor will teach and how he/she will teach it.
    According to the Centre for Research on Learning and Teaching, it is imperative to identify learning objectives, teaching strategies and activities before preparing a lesson plan.

    There are also six steps that an instructor needs to determine prior to creating an effective lesson plan. These steps basically outline key information that needs to be included within a lesson plan.
