With the rise of technology and automation, many jobs are being rendered obsolete, but few would imagine that editing and proofreading would soon fall under the purview of some digital app with an intuitive algorithm.

Indeed technology has come a long way from the '90s when we first starting seeing special features in word processing software that helped correct for grammar and punctuation errors, but those were crude and early days for said technology. We even had tools that allowed people to generate summaries from longer blocks of texts, summaries that may well have flown correctly from a grammatical perspective, but were still limited to be the constraints of the software when it came to providing a proper summary of the larger content that would require human intervention.
